On Sunday, September 30, 2019, New Seasons Church of El Cajon had an outreach event that we did for our neighborhood and community close to our church location. We gave out 150 personal invitations to neighbors and apartment complexes one week before the event, 40 people attended.
None came to Christ as a result. However, we had great opportunities to show our guests the love of Christ. We talked with them, prayed for them. The comments we received; these guests were very thankful that we took the time to reach out to them, spend time with them and pray with them. Gospel seeds were planted.
All of those who served were very blessed. Because we are the El Cajon campus of our main church New Seasons in Spring Valley, we had people from Spring Valley come to help as well. Everyone was very encouraged to see the turn-out but also have the opportunity to do their part in sharing New Seasons love.
It was good to have the bounce house as this was a draw for the children. We also used the popcorn machine. As the meat was being grilled, the popcorn was a huge success.
Some of our members that have been struggling with attendance, commented they were so glad they came, brought their family members and did their part. This helped them see the value of committing to our mission as a church to show Christ’s love to our community.
