“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:3
In 2020, when Christian songwriter Phil Wickham was wrestling with what was going on in the world, he turned to the Lord in desperation. He shouted out in praise “You are on the throne, You are king!” He remembered that Jesus said: “The kingdom of Heaven is at hand, it is here”. It was in this struggle that he wrote the praise song “Hymn of Heaven”.
Phil shared the story behind the song, saying: “The song is all about bringing heaven to this moment, with the way we act, and the way we speak, and the way we live, letting Jesus be the king and his rule, and his way taking over.”
The song was released in February 2021 and it has quickly become a popular worship song.
During times of turmoil, each of us needs to take a step back and praise the Lord. Today in prayer, praise the Lord that you can join those in heaven right now in worshiping Jesus.
