“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” – Psalm 90:14

Christian author John Stott, in his book “Through the Bible Through the Year” said that he found it helpful for many years, at the beginning of each day, to recite the following trinitarian liturgy, which begins with praise. Here is John’s praise:

“Almighty and everlasting God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe,
I worship you.
Lord Jesus Christ, Savior of the world,
I worship you.
Holy Spirit, Sanctifier of the people of God,
I worship you.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.”

Each morning is a fresh start in our eternal life with Jesus. Today in prayer, start by praising the Lord.

“When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I am alive.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

God’s Word: “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” – Psalm 5:3
