“All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” – 2 Corinthians 4:15

Ray Pritchard is president of “Keep Believing Ministries” which includes a national preaching ministry, outreach to China, and other goodwill efforts. He wrote:

“The foundation of gratitude is the expectation of nothing. If one expects nothing then anything is a bonus. If one expects more than he receives, then he is disappointed. We are so prone to complain because roses have thorns than to give thanks because thorns have roses! ‘In everything give thanks.” How do we do this in a practical sense? First, thank him for your blessings. Second, thank him for how he has helped you in your trials. Third, thank him for his presence every day. Fourth, thank him for his promises for the future. As a Christian, our whole life is to be one great, ‘Thank you, Lord.’ This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us.’”

The Lord has blessed each of us in so many ways. Today in prayer, give thanks to the Lord for your blessings, trials, His presence, and His promises.

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward

God’s Word: “We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:2
