American Missionary Dr. David Fite was arrested in Havana in 1965. He received a six-year sentence on the fabricated charges of illegal currency exchange by a Cuban court. He was also charged with counterrevolutionary activities and ideological diversionism. At the time of their arrests, Fite was a teacher and pastor in Havana.
He was incarcerated for three and a half years before being released in November 1968.
During his imprisonment, every evening at the supper table his children would pray for his release. In fact, the prayers became such a routine part of constant intercession, that the day Fite got back to his family and asked one of his sons to turn thanks at supper, the boy began: “Dear God, please let my daddy out of prison—“ and he stopped and looked up then prayed-“Oh, you've answered that one.”
God answers prayer! Today in prayer, bring before Him your needs, worries, and cares, and be confident that He will answer them.
